October – December 2021
November 24, 2021
The last three months have been a complete turnaround from last year. We have had a total of four groups and two interns. Ministries are beginning to thrive again, and covid has taken more than a back seat in daily life. Thank you for your prayers through these slow times; the Lord has answered and has given us work to do.
Over the last three months, the Lord has been working in my life as I have been studying His Word. One of the books that I have been reading was Leon Wood, The Bible, and Future Events. He made one point that there would be rewards in heaven according to how we used our time on earth. He breaks it down into five different crowns.
The incorruptible crown for those who keep the old nature in subjunction.
The crown of rejoicing for those who bring others to Christ.
The crown of righteousness for those who love Christ appears
the crown of life for those who maintain their love for the Lord in the midst of trials.
The crown of glory for those who are good shepherds of God’s flock.
The point he makes is that there is a righteous goal that we should be living for. Not just to gain eternal life and life for Christ. Leon list five possible rewards that we could obtain if we set our minds to it. Seeing and understanding this should evoke a sense of urgency to the time we have on earth. Are we using our time for the Lord specifically in one of these five areas?
I say all that to say the Lord is great, and my prayer is that I am using my time wisely and for the advancement of the kingdom. I am blessed to see how He is working every day in the lives of pastors here in Honduras. We are all one body of Christ; church teams and internships are ways that, as believers, we can work together for the furtherance of the Gosple.
In the next few months, I will be traveling to the use promoting MEDA International Missions and our programs. Please pray for a fruitful time in the States.
