Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I can’t thank you enough for your prayers for my time in the States. Since I arrived in late November, I’ve been overwhelmed by the blessings of fellowship with believers from supporting churches as well as collaboration with new ministries eager to partner with MIM and jump into gospel work. The Lord has been blowing my mind with His provision for the ministry and His direction in hearts and lives. 10+ groups are planning to come through MIM next year.

This month especially, I seem to hear “Merry Christmas” more than “Happy Holidays,” and it fills me with joy. There is no doubt that Christ is the real reason for the season – His birth, death, and resurrection paved the way for us to be in a relationship with Him. Corrie ten Boom said it well:

“Who can add to Christmas? The perfect motive is that God so loved the world. The perfect gift is that He gave His only Son. The only requirement is to believe in Him. The reward of faith is that you shall have everlasting life.”

This is the heart of Christmas – and of missions – that Christ came as the “true Light that, coming into the world, enlightens every person” (John 1:9). May we, in turn, shine as bright lights in the darkness both at Christmas and into the New Year!
